Music Classroom

At Our Saviour School we are lucky to have an experienced staff, especially in areas such as music. Our students get a well-rounded education, as they are granted the opportunity to get involved in music. Not only do we offer an outstanding chior program, but we also offer musical instrument lessons. Take a look at our photos below to see just a peek of what we have to offer!

Pre K through Grade 2: play pitched and non-pitched percussion (Orff), sing, move to music, and make instruments.
Grades 3 and 4: Have the same opportunities, however, they are also given the opportunity to play the recorder and start learning to read music.
Grades 5 and 6: We are learning to play the Ukelele, and an after school strings class is also offered!

The students at the school enjoy a wide variety of music experiences with a curriculum built around the   National Standards for Music Education and the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards.  All children in PreK- Grade 7 play both pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments including Orff, sing, move to music, make instruments, and learn about American music as well as music from other countries.  Grades 3 and 4 learn to read music through the addition of the Recorder.  Grades 5-7 are taught to read chords and charts through the use of the Ukulele.   We have also started an orchestral strings program.  Students in Grades K-7 can choose to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass.  In addition to the general music curriculum and strings program, students in grades 4-7 can choose to be a member of the school’s choir.  The choir sings at every Friday mass and the second Sunday of every month.
